I’ve had my dog since I was 17 years old, that’s almost thirteen years. He’s become my best friend and I know he’s always there for me no matter what. My son loves any and all animals.  He doesn’t care if their wild.  He will still go up to them and try to pet them or play with them.  He doesn’t understand that some of these animals carry diseases.  He thinks that he can save every animal he comes across.  I love his spirit but am not always happy with some of the creatures he brings into our house. 

Recently though, he brought home the sweetest stray kitten.  He told me that the kitten was lying next to its mother who had been killed by a car.  He had tears in his eyes and begged me to let him keep the cat.  He also wanted to know if we could save the mommy cat who’d been hit by a car.  It broke my heart.  The least I could do for him is let him keep the kitten.  I wanted to take the kitten to the vet to make sure it was healthy.  The problem is, I don’t have the money for this right now.  But I can’t bring myself to tell my son that we can’t keep it.
